John Wareham (Senior Development Manager)

John is the Senior Development Manager for TCC with specific responsibilities for management of our services to Methodism.

He has extensive experience of grass root work and also in engaging at the highest strategic level with local authorities, police and health services.


Tim Wallace (Project Officer)

Tim Wallace (Project Officer)

Tim is a Project Officer for TCC.

He has had nearly 10 years’ experience of working as a Development Officer within a Methodist Circuit. During this time he has gained experience in managing property projects, funding applications and governance matters.

David Walton (Chair)

David Walton (Chair)

David trained as a solicitor and currently a partner at DWF LLP based in Manchester - specialising in commercial property, with a particular focus on the energy and charity sectors.

He has also been involved as Chair of an international legal group and a trustee of a number of charities. He has grown up in the Methodist Church but is ecumenical in outlook. He is a youth leader in his local church and a local preacher.

David served as Vice-President of the Methodist Conference in 2008-9 – among his concerns during the year were ethical business and how faith relates to work – and he recently finished a term of three years as Chair of the Methodist Council.

He enjoys choral singing and is a frustrated actor!


Rev Dr Andrew Lunn

Rev Dr Andrew Lunn

Andrew is a Methodist Minister and currently Chair of the Manchester and Stockport District of the Methodist Church.

He has previously worked in theological education, and with churches in urban settings.

He has a PhD in practical theology, in which he explored ‘neighbourhood' as the context and model of church.

He lives with his wife Julie, their two daughters, and their grandson, in Stockport.


Rev Helen Bryne

Rev Helen Bryne

Helen is a minister in the Methodist church

Her previous role as a District Development Enabler in the Manchester & Stockport District means she has a wealth of experience of assisting churches engage with the community.

Prior to this appointment Helen worked in a volunteer role within the local church for 15 years. She is inspired particularly by youth and children's work and has a passion for singing and performing arts.

Having completed an MA in contextual theology in 2010 Helen continues to study theology and how it relates to our local context and cultures.


Rev Dr John Illsley

Rev Dr John Illsley

John is a qualified Accountant and worked for Unilever PLC for 16 years.

He worked in London, Basingstoke and Zambia; his last job with Unilever was Chief Accountant.

After training for the Ministry at Queen's Birmingham he served in Sheffield and Derby before going to Hong Kong where he served for 9 years in the Methodist Church Hong Kong as Senior Pastor of the Methodist International Church Hong Kong, a church that grew to 1000 on a Sunday.

He returned to the U.K. in 2011 and is currently Superintendent Minister in Bury
